The North Wind Stables Riding Academy Philosophy

North Wind Stables is dedicated to making your horseback riding experience satisfying, challenging, fun and safe. North Wind will tailor the right program for you as a beginner just starting out, or an experienced rider seeking the highest levels of competition.

All North Wind Stables Riding Academy instruction is individualized and focuses on building strong teams: rider, horse and trainer. Whether you are riding one of North Wind’s well-trained, safe, lesson horses or your own performance or equitation horse, teamwork is our number one goal.

North Wind Stables teaches the fundamentals of good horseback riding that lead to success in the show ring or safety on a trail ride. The skills you learn will open the door to fully enjoying all of your equestrian activities wherever they may take you.

Youth Activities

Our youth club, The North Stars, is a member of the American Saddlebred Youth International Program and is open to all North Wind riders between the ages of 6 and 18. Being a member of The North Stars involves you in the total horse experience while meeting new friends who share your passion.

The North Stars participant will:

• Learn to care for the whole horse: grooming, anatomy, first aid and nutrition

• Learn proper care of tack and other horse-related equipment

• Attend exhibitions where they will teach others about the American Saddlebred

• Enjoy fun, special activities and parties with other horse lovers

Private Lessons

Lesson with 1 instructor, 1 rider and approximately 30 minutes of riding time. $40

Semi-Private Lessons

Lesson with 1 instructor, 2 riders and approximately 30 minutes of riding time. $30

Group Lessons (provided on a limited basis)

Lesson with 1 instructor and 4 or fewer riders and approximately 45 to 60 minutes of riding time. $30

Five-Gaited Lessons

You must be evaluated by our instructors in previous lessons to be eligible to take a lesson on a five-gaited horse. $100

Show Horse Lessons

You must be evaluated by our instructors in previous lessons to be eligible to take a lesson on a show horse. $175

Multiple Lessons, Day Package

Two lessons and one practice ride with 1 instructor and 1 rider and approximately 75-90 minutes total saddle time. Rider is responsible for grooming their own horses. $80

10-Lesson Package

You pay for 8 private lessons, to be taken within a 60-day period, and receive 2 additional lessons at no extra charge. All 10 lessons must be taken within a 60-day period and fee must be prepaid. $320

Horse Care Program

Lesson with 1 instructor and 1 rider includes 30 minutes of riding time and 30 minutes of grooming and horse care. $40

Rescue Program

Available on a limited basis, this program involves you in grooming and caring for horses in need. As suitable horses are available, riding may also be included. Sorry, but not all riders are eligible for this program. A portion of the lesson fee goes to Saddlebred Rescue, Inc., a 501c3 nonprofit organization. $50

Youth Group Program

Meetings and activities on a TBA basis. Available to all students of the North Wind Stables Riding Academy. FREE
